Salvation – Now What

We have been talking for the past few weeks about how to share Jesus without fear.

Let’s say that God has inspired you to do just that – share your faith with someone. And let’s say that person you shared with accepted Jesus as their Savior and asked Him into their heart!

Absolutely wonderful! Now what?

The truth is – salvation is the starting line – not the finish line!

Once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior then we have the rest of eternity to develop a relationship with Him! But our relationship should start out on the right track. All too often satan will begin to attack and discourage new believers. There are a few things we need to do with a new believer so that they will begin to be a disciple of Jesus.

Tell Your Story – Ask Others

The last session of Share Jesus Without Fear looks at telling our story and asking others theirs.

As a disciple of Jesus it is so important to share how you came to believe in Jesus. Our story is unique, because it is our own story. Telling how we came to believe in Jesus is encouraging to us and those who hear our story.

Same with asking others their story. If they know Jesus then sharing their story is a wonderful conversation.

If they don’t have a story, then you have the opportunity to go back ask the probing questions, share scripture and then ask if they are ready to surrender to Jesus – just as we have learned the past four weeks.

You just don’t know where to start until you start to ask questions. Tell and Ask !

Share Jesus without Fear – the Decision

If you have asked probing questions of your friend and they want to learn more about Jesus.

And they have read and understood the scripture then they have a decision to make.

Do you want to ask Jesus into your heart and surrender your life?

I believe there are 3 responses that a person will give. Watch the video to learn, or download the file for your reference.

Share Jesus Without Fear – The Power of Scripture

In this session of Share Jesus Without Fear we will see how the power of Scripture can change lives.

It is through Scripture that God can speak to the heart of people. He alone can convict and draw people to Himself.

Once you have determined that the person you are asking probing questions to is ready to read scripture and listen to the Holy Spirit, then your job becomes that of a page turner. Yes – all you need to do is turn pages in the Bible so your person can read the Scripture for themselves and determine what God is saying to them.

The enclosed document will help you determine which Scripture to read. Mark the pages in your Bible so all you are doing is turning the page to the next scripture. God will do the heavy lifting at this point!

Share Jesus Without Fear – Common Fears

I am starting a series entitled Share Jesus Without Fear.  It is based on the book by William Fay.

First I believe we need to understand that as disciples of Jesus it is our duty to share Him with others – according to Matthew 28:18-20.

But how do we do that?

What fears do people have?

Bill defines six fears that keep people from sharing Jesus:

  1. I’m afraid of being rejected
  2. I’m afraid of what my friends will think
  3. I don’t think I can share with my coworkers
  4. I’m afraid of losing my friends and relatives
  5. I don’t know enough
  6. I don’t know how

In today’s session we will discuss these fears.

Pray Scriptures

One technique to be able to “pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18) is to pray God’s Word back to Him.  Suggestions on how to do this is the theme of today’s video from Digging Disciples.

Healthy Habits

How do you create a healthy habit?  I believe that we can set a goal of making a healthy habit.  Some people say if you do it for 21 days you will form a habit.  But I believe there are some circumstances that allow a habit to be formed quicker and sometimes longer.  It just depends on the three stages of forming a habit.

Paths

While looking at Proverbs 3:5-6 I was struck by one word – Paths.

Different translations will describe v6 as make paths straight / guide you on the right paths / make straight your paths / direct your paths.  But they all use a plural form of path – paths.  Meaning we take many paths in our lives, and we should think about and listen to God – and he will provide correct paths for us to take.
